Wednesday, 24 April 2019

NCCU's Chief Executive Officer, Aylmer Irish, and Administrative Officer of the NCCU Castle Bruce Branch, Jacqueline Roberts were members of a Dominica credit union delegation which visited credit unions in the United States from April 9 to 20, 2019 for training and information exchanges.

The delegation participated in financial management training with World Council of Credit Union leaders in Madison, Wisconsin and received training in governance, financial best practices, and advocacy from executives and member credit unions of the Wisconsin Credit Union League.

During the visit to Indiana, the group discussed strategic planning and received information on agricultural lending, member services, technology, and operations from leaders and professionals of the Indiana Credit Union League and member credit unions.

The visit continued work being done, by the Dominica Credit Union movement with the World Council of Credit Unions, in rebuilding the Dominica credit union system which was impacted by Hurricane Maria in 2017.

Phoenix Belfield, Manager of the Dominica Co-operative Societies League Ltd, and Ericson Christopher, General Manager of West Coast Co-operative Credit Union Ltd were the other members of the Dominica delegation.
