The National Cooperative Credit Union (NCCU) has reaffirmed its commitment to youth development and cultural expression through the sponsorship of contestants in the 2026 Miss Teen Dominica and Miss Dominica State College (DSC) Mas Jamboree Pageants.
The sponsorships were formally presented during a sashing ceremony held on Friday, January 16, where the young women were officially designated NCCU product ambassadors and branded with the names of key NCCU products.
The Miss Teen Dominica contestants sponsored by NCCU are:
NCCU-sponsored Kalie Clarke, who is contesting the Dominica State College Mas Jamboree Pageant, has been sashed as Miss Momentum.
The ceremony also featured introductions by the contestants, who outlined the NCCU products they will represent throughout the competition.
Secretary of the NCCU Board of Directors, Ms. Kayan Toussaint, noted that endorsements of this nature reflect NCCU’s support for youth empowerment and cultural preservation.
“Young people are not only the leaders of tomorrow; they are the influencers of today. Through education, savings initiatives, sponsorship, and mentorship, NCCU continues to empower young people to believe in themselves, manage resources responsibly, and stand confidently in their identity and culture,” Toussaint said.
Drawing from her experience as Miss Dominica 2009, Toussaint further highlighted pageantry as a powerful platform for personal growth and leadership development.
Hosted by the Waitukubuli Dance Theatre Company, the Miss Teen Dominica Pageant has been running for 47 years. Meanwhile, the Mas Jamboree Pageant resumes this year after a five-year hiatus.
The sashing of the contestants was done by Vice President of the NCCU Board, Ms. Marjorie C. Roberts.
